ACCA Professional Ethics Module (2017 Update)

Ethics is a crucial thing for a financial professional. Its importance is not less than the knowledge and skills ones. That's why ACCA requires the completion of online Ethics module for ACCA members and students who completed the fundamental level and wish to have an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business.

You go to the module via your page MyACCA. You choose Ethics & Professionalism and then go to Professional Ethics Module.

Units # 1-6 contain the theory and tests to check the knowledge you learned.
Unit # 7 proposes us to consider the situation which happened at the final stage of an audit in the pharmaceutical company. It is about a compromise which was concluded between the CEO of a client and Partner of an audit firm. Will the audit manager support this compromise who conducts the audit and signs of the work papers? There is also the situation when an accountant gives the direction to change the financial information from CFO. Will he discuss with his boss or just perform her instructions?
Unit # 8 tests the knowledge which you learned from all units
Unit # 9 requires writing an essay about what you learned from ACCA Professional Ethics module. The essay is up to 250 words. You should also pay attention to the warning about plagiarism. So do not use Google)
I wrote about the importance of ethical principles, especially for accountants who work for listed companies, and discussed principles based ACCA approach of resolving ethical dilemmas.

P.S. On 1st of November 2017 the ACCA introduced the new Ethics and Professional Skills module. It contains six interactive units and takes 20 hours. The new ethics module costs 60 GBP. You need to complete it before starting the Strategic Professional exams.
